What I Would Do This Week If I Had Zero Myofunctional Therapy Clients

CEO

What would you actually do this week if you had zero myofunctional therapy clients?

I’m not talking about a theoretical exercise. I’m talking about a real, honest answer — the moves I would make if I wiped the slate clean and started from scratch today.

I get asked versions of this question constantly. In Get Unstuck Calls, in my Facebook community, in DMs. The words change, but the feeling is always the same: I’m trained, I’m ready, and I have no idea what to do next.

This post is my answer.

The Real Reason You’re Stuck Isn’t What You Think

Most trained myofunctional therapists assume they’re stuck because they need more training, a better website, or a bigger following.

They don’t.

They’re stuck because they haven’t made three foundational decisions that every profitable practice is built on…and they have zero myofunctional therapy clients. And until those decisions are made, everything else — the content, the marketing, the social media — is just noise.

Here’s where I’d start.

Step 1: Get Ruthlessly Clear on Your WHO

This is the move I’d make before anything else.

Not your niche in theory. Your actual, specific person — the one you’re building this for, the one whose problem keeps you up at night, the one you could talk to for two hours without looking at the clock. This is your why.

Here’s what I see over and over: therapists try to serve everyone and end up attracting no one. A watered-down message doesn’t convert. It just gets scrolled past.

When you get clear on your WHO, your marketing gets easier, your messaging gets sharper, and the right people start finding you. It’s not magic. It’s just specificity.

Step 2: Check Your Mindset Before You Say Another Word About Pricing

This one is uncomfortable. But it’s true.

Your belief about your own value is showing up in every conversation you have with a potential client — before you even get to price. The hesitation in your voice. The way you over-explain your offer. The apologetic tone when someone asks what you charge.

People feel that. And it costs you clients. Your clients will mirror your energy. They will mirror your confidence. They will mirror your confusion and lack of certainty.

Before I worried about marketing, I’d spend real time here. Not journaling about it — actually doing the work to believe that what I offer is worth every dollar I charge.

Step 3: Build a Package, Not a Prayer

Single sessions are a trap.

When you sell single sessions, every week starts at zero. You’re always one no-show away from a bad month. There’s no predictability, no momentum, and no real transformation for your clients either — because myofunctional therapy takes time.

A package model changes everything. It creates guaranteed income, sets clear expectations, and gives you something real to sell — a transformation with a beginning, middle, and end — instead of just 30 minutes or an hour of your time.

This week, if I had zero clients, I would not take a single session inquiry. I’d build the package first.

Step 4: Create Your Unique Myofunctional Experience

Here’s a question worth sitting with: if someone asked you right now, “what do you do and what makes you different?” — could you answer it in one clear sentence that a fifth grader could understand?

Most therapists can’t. And that’s the problem.

Your Unique Myofunctional Experience (UME) is the specific combination of who you serve, what problem you solve, and how you solve it differently than anyone else. When you can say it clearly, your emails get better, your conversations get easier, and your sales go up!

Step 5: Stop Hiding

This is the one nobody wants to hear.

You have a network. People who know you, trust you, and are one conversation away from referring someone or becoming a client themselves. And most of you aren’t telling them what you do.

Not clearly. Not consistently. Not with any confidence.

This week, I’d make a list of every person in my world who might know someone who needs what I do — and I’d start having conversations. Not pitching. Just talking. Telling my story. Letting people know I’m open for business.

Your next client is probably one conversation away.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do if I have no myofunctional therapy clients?

Stop fixing the wrong problem. Most therapists with zero clients assume they need more training, a better website, or a bigger following. They don’t. They need three foundational decisions in place: a crystal-clear WHO, a confident pricing mindset, and a packaged offer instead of single sessions. Everything else is noise until those three are locked in.

How do I get my first myofunctional therapy client?

Talk to people you already know. Most therapists are sitting on a warm network — past colleagues, dental contacts, friends, former classmates — who don’t actually know what you do or that you’re open for business. Your next client is almost always one clear conversation away. Stop hiding behind content creation and start telling people what you offer.

Why am I not booking myofunctional therapy clients?

Almost always because your message is too vague to convert. When you try to serve everyone, you attract no one. Watered-down messaging gets scrolled past. The fix is ruthless specificity — pick one person and one problem you solve better than anyone else, then build your entire message around that. Vague doesn’t convert. Specific does.

Should I sell single sessions or packages as a myofunctional therapist?

Packages — always. Single sessions are a trap. Every week starts at zero, you’re one no-show from a bad month, and there’s no real transformation for your clients because myofunctional therapy takes time. A package model creates guaranteed income, sets clear expectations, and gives you a real transformation to sell instead of just renting out an hour of your time.

How do I price myofunctional therapy when I’m just starting?

Price the transformation, not the time. But before you set a number, fix your mindset. Your belief about your own value shows up in every client conversation — in the hesitation in your voice, the way you over-explain, the apologetic tone when someone asks what you charge. Clients mirror your energy. Confidence in your pricing matters more than the actual number on the page.

What is a Unique Myofunctional Experience and why do I need one?

Your Unique Myofunctional Experience is the specific combination of who you serve, what problem you solve, and how you solve it differently than anyone else. If a fifth grader couldn’t repeat what you do in one clear sentence, your message is too vague. When you can say it clearly, your emails get better, your conversations get easier, and your sales go up. Book a Get Unstuck Call if you need help defining yours.
