TRAINED BUT STUCK

You get the plan you were never taught, the exact next steps to close the gap between trained but stuck and finally running the practice you set out to build.

Why You’re Not Getting Myofunctional Therapy Clients — And Exactly What to Fix

Marketing

You finished the training. You set up the business — or at least you think you did. You told people what you do. And you are still wondering how to get myofunctional therapy clients. If this is you, I want to tell you something plainly: it is almost never the training, and it is almost never the market. It is visibility. And the good news is that it is fixable.

I have been coaching trained myofunctional therapists long enough to see the same pattern repeat itself over and over. The therapist who is stuck is not usually lazy, not unintelligent, and not in the wrong field. She is invisible. And in many cases, she does not even know it yet.

The Field of Dreams Lie

Here is what every clinical training program teaches you: how to do the therapy. Here is what none of them teach you: how to get found.

When you complete your training, the assumption is that the credential does the marketing. It does not. Your ABC letters behind your name do not tell Google you exist. They do not bring a parent searching for help for her child to your website. They do not build a referral network. Visibility is a separate skill, and you have to build it on purpose.

The Field of Dreams lie is the belief that if you build it, they will come. You hang out your shingle, say you are open for business, and wait. Nothing happens. Not because myofunctional therapy is too niche, and not because your market is saturated. Because nobody can find someone they have never heard of.

The Three Visibility Gaps Keeping You Stuck

Gap 1: You Have No Clear Ideal Client

Talking to everyone keeps you invisible to everyone. I know that is not what you want to hear, but it is what I see every single time.

When you say “I help people breathe better and sleep better,” nobody specifically searches for that. Your ideal client has a specific problem she is living with at 11 p.m. on a Sunday night when she is dreading tomorrow, and she is typing that specific problem into Google. Not “myofunctional therapist.” Her problem.

If you want to know how to get myofunctional therapy clients, this is step one: get so clear on who you help and what she is actually searching for that your content speaks directly to her and nobody else. Diluted messaging is why you have no traction. A niche so specific it makes you nervous is the one that works.

Gap 2: Your Website Cannot Be Found

I am watching this in real time across therapists I am coaching right now. Some of them have a no-index tag on their website, which tells Google: nothing to see here. They are technically invisible to the most important search engine on the planet, and they paid someone to build the site and have no idea.

Even without a technical error, most myofunctional therapy websites are written for colleagues, not for the person who does not know you exist yet. Your website has exactly one job before it can do anything else: get found by the person who needs you and does not know your name. If it is not doing that, it does not matter how beautiful it looks or how detailed your bio is.

Check your settings. Make sure your site is indexed. Make sure your pages use the language your ideal client actually types, not the language your training program uses.

Gap 3: You Are Inconsistent and Calling It Effort

Posting one Instagram reel and then disappearing for three weeks is not a marketing strategy. Writing one blog post and waiting to see what happens is not consistency. And yet this is what most stuck therapists are doing, and then they are frustrated that nothing is moving.

Visibility is not about any single piece of content. It is about what you do every single week. I am working on my second million in revenue right now, and I am doing the same boring things I have always done, showing up on the same day, in the same place, with the same message, week after week. That is not exciting. That is what works.

The Three Fixes You Can Start This Week

Fix 1: Get clear on who you help.

Not “everyone with breathing issues.” One specific person with one specific problem. Know her the way I know my Lola. Know where she shops, what she Googles, what she is afraid of, and what she would sacrifice to fix it. When that person finds your content, she should feel like you wrote it for her alone.

Fix 2: Make sure your website says that clearly and can be found.

Go into your website settings and confirm your pages are set to index. Then read your homepage out loud and ask yourself: does this speak to my ideal client’s actual problem, or does it speak to the credential I earned? If it is the latter, rewrite it. Your homepage is not your resume. It is your first conversation with someone who needs you.

Fix 3: Show up consistently in the place your ideal client is already spending time.

Not everywhere. One place, done repeatedly, week after week. One of my biggest growth periods came from showing up every Wednesday at 2 p.m. for a Facebook Live, for an entire year. Whether there were twenty people or zero. Consistency is the strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions: How to Get Myofunctional Therapy Clients

How to get myofunctional therapy clients, especially my first one?

Getting your first client starts with being findable. That means having a clear ideal client, a website written for her specific problem (not your credentials), and showing up consistently in at least one place she already looks. Before any marketing tactic works, visibility has to exist. If you are not sure whether you are visible, book a Get Unstuck Call and we will find out together.

Why am I not getting myofunctional therapy clients even though I finished training?

Training makes you a myofunctional therapist. It does not make you visible. The two most common reasons trained therapists have no clients are a diluted message that speaks to no one in particular, and a website that Google cannot find. Both are fixable. Neither has anything to do with how well you learned the clinical work.

How do I market a myofunctional therapy practice?

Start with clarity before you start with content. Know your ideal client specifically enough that your content speaks to one person. Then build a website that is indexed, uses her language, and tells her what you do and who you do it for. Then show up consistently in one channel, week after week. If you want a structured plan for building that foundation, The Profitable Myofunctional Therapist™ is the program designed to walk you through every step.

What does a no-index tag do to my myofunctional therapy website?

A no-index tag tells Google to ignore your website entirely. If your site has one, you are invisible in search results no matter how good your content is. Check your website settings, your SEO plugin settings, and any individual page settings to confirm your pages are set to be indexed. This is one of the most common and most fixable visibility problems I see in myofunctional therapy practices right now.

How long does it take to start getting myofunctional therapy clients?

There is no guaranteed timeline, because results depend on your market, your message, your consistency, and your execution. What I can tell you is that the therapists who move fastest are the ones who get clear on their ideal client, fix their website visibility, and show up consistently without waiting to feel ready. If you want structure and support for that process, Learn Myofunctional Therapy in 60 Days is a good starting point for the clinical foundation, and PMT picks up the business side from there.

Is the myofunctional therapy market too saturated to get clients?

No. There is no mayor of Myo Town. The market is not saturated. The therapists who are not getting clients are almost universally the ones with a visibility problem, not a competition problem. When you get clear on a specific ideal client, show up where she is looking, and do it consistently, the clients come.

The Real Problem Is Fixable

You are not stuck because the market is wrong, because your training was insufficient, or because you are somehow not built for this. You are stuck because you are invisible, and invisible is a problem with a solution.

Get clear on who you help. Make sure Google can find you. Show up consistently. None of that is magic. All of it is repeatable.
